Seattle Suffers First Home Loss of Season

Breanna Stewart scored 32 points to guide the New York Liberty to a 91-79 victory over the Seattle Storm on Thursday, July 15 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Stewart Dominates the Court

  • Stewart shot 50% from the field and was 4-of-8 from three-point range.
  • The two-time MVP added nine rebounds and six assists.
  • Stewart has now scored 20 or more points in six straight games.

Liberty Dominate the Inside

  • Natasha Howard added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Liberty.
  • Han Xu scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
  • The Liberty outrebounded the Storm 59-39.

Storm Struggle from Beyond the Arc

  • Seattle shot just 21.7% from three-point range.
  • Breanna Stewart was the only Storm player to make multiple three-pointers.
  • The Storm's shooting struggles allowed the Liberty to pull away in the second half.

The loss is the Storm's first home loss of the season. They are now 4-5 at Climate Pledge Arena.

The Liberty improve to 8-3 with the win and are now in first place in the Eastern Conference.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday, July 17 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
