Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jaylen Brown added 25 points, and Marcus Smart chipped in with 22 points.
The Mavericks were led by Luka Dončić, who had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. However, Dončić was not able to keep up with Tatum and the Celtics offense, which shot 51.5% from the field.
The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 32-19. Tatum and Brown were both aggressive in the third quarter, and they combined for 20 points. The Celtics also held Dončić to just 5 points in the third quarter.
The Celtics closed out the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 29-22. Tatum hit a number of big shots down the stretch to help seal the victory.
With the win, the Celtics move into a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference. The Mavericks are now 10-10 on the season.
